Workshop Objectives
This workshop, organized by the Arab States Research and Education Network (ASREN) and Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA), aims to:
- Build foundational knowledge of Open Science principles, definitions, and components.
- Explore regional and international Open Science frameworks and policies, including the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science.
- Identify challenges and opportunities for Open Science implementation in the Arab region.
- Facilitate dialogue among institutions on collaboration, infrastructure needs, and policy alignment.
- Provide an introduction to core Open Science practices (e.g., open access, FAIR data, research software, open peer review, citizen science, etc.).
